We encourage and enjoy family participation in all areas of school life to develop a true partnership in learning.

I have worked at Billanook for many years. I absolutely love this school. My own child came here as a student and I have worked here ever since. I feel very lucky to work up in the front office and deal with such lovely students and parents every day!

It is such a privilege to be part of the warm, inviting and dynamic community that is Billanook Primary School.  Teaching is a passion of mine and I love watching the growth my students make across a year; fostering their love of learning and modelling the ability to ‘bounce back’ when something is challenging or doesn’t go to plan. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me enjoying a coffee, at the beach with my dog or playing footy!

Being part of the Billanook community is truly something special.  The staff, families and students make being a teacher here such a pleasure. My belief is that relationships are the key to success. In my class, I want children to feel valued for who they are and be willing to take risks with their learning knowing that I am there to support them every step of the way. Outside of teaching, I love exercising, spending time with loved ones (including my puppy) and getting down to the beach!

Teaching is a great passion of mine and something I wouldn’t change. I enjoy journeying alongside each student, in the year I have with them, and assisting them to be the best person they can be. My role is to help students think critically, be creative, solve problems, take risks in their learning, and help them to expand their mind and grow as individuals.

I am a teacher in Level 3/4 and Learning Specialist at Billanook Primary school. I love being a part of the school community at BPS as everyone is so welcoming and kind.
My main aim in the classroom is to create an inclusive and warm learning environment for all of my students, where they all feel welcome to express their ideas.
Outside of school, I enjoy road trips to the beach, camping on the Murray River and walking my dogs.

Billanook was the Primary School I attended as a child and now work for as a teacher. It is a special place where students are celebrated for their individual strengths and are fostered in a safe environment. As a teacher, and also a mum, I am incredibly proud to work at a school where I know that the students are the number one priority and where their wellbeing is prioritised. When I am not teaching at the foot of beautiful Mount Dandenong you can find me along the Yarra River or at the beach.

Teaching Performing Arts at Billanook is a joy. I love teaching music to kids and seeing them develop over the years. We have a whole school production here every second year. It is a massive production and an outstanding show. This provides the students with an excellent opportunity to be involved in a production and I just love seeing their little faces when it’s their turn to shine.

As the student wellbeing leader at Billanook Primary School I am committed to providing a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment for all students. As a school community we understand that students reach their full potential only when they are happy, healthy and safe. Through a whole school Tribes approach, Fortnightly Wellbeing Assemblies and dedicated Respectful Relationship sessions we ensure student wellbeing remains at the forefront of all that we do. Our school acknowledges that a positive school culture helps to engage students and support them in their learning, as student wellbeing and student learning outcomes are closely linked.

This year, I have taken on a new role as the High Ability Practice Leader at Billanook. My role is to facilitate the Enrichment Program for Levels 3-6. Being a part of the Billanook Primary School community is something that I am proud of. I am passionate about building positive relationships with my students and it brings me so much joy to foster their learning and watch them grow. When I am not at school, I am at home being a Mum to my beautiful little boy.

I love working in our recently renovated library. It is so colourful and engaging and the students enjoy browsing in our large selection of books. We cater for varying interests from classics like Dr. Seuss and Possum Magic to the very popular Star Wars and Guinness book of world records.
